We are wanting to move our electricity meter from our bedroom - does anyone know of the cheapest way to get this done?

You could try UKPN, see link above.

There is no cheap way at all available. You are at the mercy of your local distributor who you access through your supplier. they charge top dollar to move electric meters, they have no competition and therefore have got you by the short and curlies. Expect to pay well over £800.
Personally I think its quite wrong to have an electric meter in bedrooms and they should be moving it for free. I have to go in peoples master bedrooms occasionally just to look at an electric meter, mostly in former N.C.B former houses. I would point out that fact to them and hope they see sense and see how ridiculous it is0 -
Why do you need to move it? Could it not be boxed in if unsightly? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

My electric meter is behind the fridge/freever which is heavy to move when full. I usually make a note on the calender when the reader is due so i can pull it a couple of days before. But that means it's sticking out in the kitchen. I've spoken to the meter reader about it and he told me there is no cheap way to move it.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

I've never seen him get a mirror, it is difficult that he's leaning over the worktop and trying to look down, but the alternative is to pull it out an extra couple of feet and he'd have to jump over the counter. I wouldn't expect the man to help with the fridge, that's why i try and have it ready, but i have thought if i were still here in 20yrs time and couldn't manage i may have to pay to get it moved. Although by then no doubt we'll all have smart meters.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
