no, its just for overground rail services.
if you have a local authority bus oass, you can use that on buses anywhere in england or wales.
the only disabled people to get concessionary travel on the underground are those issued with freedom passes that live in the london boroughs

You can for offpeak travel. If you go to a tube station with the card, if you have your oystercard registered on the website you can ask them to add it to the card.

I think the above poster meant that the English pass is valid in England only and the Welsh pass is valid in Wales only. Local authorities manage it and that is why it differs by county. If I visit my Grandad then we can get the bus together for free, but if we get the local train then he goes free and I have to pay.
National governments/assemblies of England, Scotland & Wales fund it for their own citizens only. In Scotland you can even use it on long distance coaches. If you live in England then your pass should have an English rose on.0 -
In north of England you can use a Scottish Bus pass to travel across the border in local buses.
While on holiday in Carlisle I got a bus to Gretna Gateway shopping centre. I held out cash, but driver explained I could use my Scottish pass as Gretna was in Scotland. Same on return journey.0 -
woodbine ... ive just checked and youre correct.
not sure when it changed, but you used to be able to travel on welsh buses too.

No need to get an Oyster card!
One thing TFL don't tell us much about is that with a Disabled Adult Railcard you can get a reduced rate Off Peak Day Travelcard to cover zones 1-6 £5.90.
I find I can buy mine beforehand at my local rail station 100 miles from London. This covers you for all overground, tube and bus services in all the zones.
You can also buy another discounted day travelcard for your companion.
To quote from TfL:
"Disabled Persons Railcard
If you buy a Disabled Persons Railcard you can put the discount concession on a standard adult Oyster card.
As well as a 34% discount on off-peak pay as you go fares and daily caps, you can also buy discounted Off-Peak Day Travelcards to travel:
At any time on weekends and public holidays
After 09.30 on Monday to Friday
If you're using pay as you go, you can also buy an Off-Peak Day Travelcard at child rate for one adult who is travelling with you for the whole of your journey.
NOTE: You must use your Disabled Persons Railcard with a valid ticket or Oyster card with the Railcard discount concession to travel. If you also have a Disabled Person's Freedom Pass you cannot use the Disabled Persons Railcard to buy a discounted ticket for your companion, and then use your Freedom Pass to travel."
You can also use your existing concessionary bus pass on London buses if you are an English resident and keep within the peak time restrictions.0 -
