Apologies if this is in the wrong (bit of the) forum? This is my first post.
In July I booked a (n expensive) holiday & paid the deposit on my credit card. I had to pay the balance by debit card at the travel companies insistence. I have had to cancel the whole holiday because of medical reasons. I ought to get some cost back from my insurance company as I did take out insurance to cover the condition that caused me to cancel BUT it is not enough to cover all of what we paid so I am wondering if I have recourse to the credit card company, Barclaycard in this case, to get at least part of the deposit back?
I've gone through Barclaycard's FAQs with a fine tooth comb & can't find anything useful about this. All help and suggestions, including where best to post this (be nice!) gratefully received.
Thank you in advance

No, the credit card company doesn't have any liability to you here under section 75, your insurance is what protects you in these circumstances, even if it's not full reimbursement (why not by the way?).0

No you would only be able to claim on credit card if the holiday is cancelled on you. The service is still available.Debt free by XMAS 2015 #027Barclaycard: £0.00Divorce: £0.00 :jKitchen: £0.00 :j0

You must have had some pretty poor travel insurance if it couldn't cover the cost of the holiday...Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.
ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.0
