Tesuhoha - this is the second or third time that you have started a thread and then deleted it ........maybe you should just write out a thread, leave it, go and have a cup of tea/coffee or whatever - then come back and delete it without ever posting it! Just a suggestion

Or, alternatively, if there really is something troubling you do ask for help. If not from here but somewhere :)

You can always start a thread with an anonymous name.

To be honest I didn't think anyone had actually noticed but good idea.

There was once a time where you could delete something but I couldn't find how to do it last night. Nothing troubling me but was worried last night as daughter went out on an internet date and didn't come home. It just made me feel a bit less anxious to type it out but when I found out she was okay and had gone to a friend's house I felt a bit silly. It was her fault as she should have let me know because I was waiting to collect her from the station.

I think in the early hours of the morning the imagination can go a bit wild and if you are sitting on your own with no one to talk to it can get out of proportion. So thats why I posted the thread to get a bit of perspective and a bit of a kick up the backside. But she did say she was coming home and I was to give her a lift and she wasn't answering my texts and later on phone calls at 2am when the last train came in at 12.30am so I was worried. I started thinking about women who had gone to meet men and then had gone missing because I don't know who this bloke is.

    I'd have been worried too.

Glad she's OK, but I hope you read her the riot act about letting you know if she's not going to follow arrangements made. :)

Yes she was very apologetic. Just lost track of time. The main reason why I was worried was because it is so out of character for her. She's one of those people who are constantly texting and she always lets me know whats happening. I'm alright as long as I know she's okay.

You shouldn't feel silly, and it's not just young females that are vulnerable.
If I go on a date, I tell a friend to text just so they know that at that point of reply, I have not hooked up with some physcopathic maniac, and I would hope my date does too.
Yes your daughter should have at least text you to let you know she is ok.

I'd have been worried too, I can see exactly why you were freaking out a bit!

I don't know about anyone else, but, nothing makes me more likely to click on a post than a title of 'please delete' hahaha :rotfl:

The thread starter can't delete threads. I discovered this some years ago, when I asked about a book about 'worst case scenarios' as I was going to buy it as a tongue in cheek Xmas present for FIL who is a worry-wart about unlikely events. Unfortunately I thought the book was called something like 'what to do in a plane crash' and started the title like this, only for it to be the day there really was an air disaster and it looked really bad taste the thread so I tried in vain to delete it.:o
