Question about Tax credits entitlement table

Hi everyone,
I was looking at "Tax credits entitlement table: working at least 16 hours and no childcare" (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/tax-credits-entitlement-table-working-at-least-16-hours-and-no-childcare/tax-credits-entitlement-table-working-at-least-16-hours-and-no-childcare), and wondering what happens when a couple with one child splits and submit separate claims for benefits: do both of them count as an adult with one child, or only the partner who lives with the child (while the other partner counts as an adult with no child)?

the one with the chikd kiving with them is an adult with a child and the other is a single adult.
if they share custody of the child, tax credits can still only be claimed by one of them.
to claim when working 16 hours as a couple for wtc, then the other adult would need to be disabled, otherwise they have to work a minimum of 24 between them, with one working at least 16

Thanks nannytone.
I've read that the benefit system has been repeatedly accused of promoting divorce and separation by giving lone parents more than parents living together. But really the lone parent who doesn't live with the child receives very little, so I'm shocked.0 -
Makes sense, thank you.0
