Hi, I have deposited 823 pounds cash in counter, cashier has given me a receipt with Bank's stamp on it. It was house rent to my land lord's account.
Today(20 th July)my land lord informed me that he has got 723 pounds, he checked his account on 18 th it was 823 pounds credited, then on 19 th they have taken all the money saying Bank error and deposited 723 pounds later. He is asking me for an answer.
It was 6 pm, called Barclays customer service, they are asking me to go to the same branch with my receipt.
To clearify all, I have paid 823 pounds, she counted it. So how come bank discovers an error next day and took my 100 pounds. The fault was not mine, why am I loosing 100 pounds.
Any advice as I am really distreesed. I Bank with Natwest, I dont know anything about Barclays. Help will be much appreciated.

If you've got a receipt for £823 cash, they can't later decide to alter it to £723. It's their job to check the money's OK and the amount is correct when you deposit it over the counter.
So, as they say, go back to the branch with the receipt and ensure they correct their error.0 -

Definitely a better paper trail and far less chance of an error with a bank transfer. Good luck for the chat with the bank!0
