I need 7m with upstands and hob. Been quoted for 2 different quality granites.
Cosmo nero 4 supplier quotes of £3000, £2800, £2400 and £2200
Black something £2000 by 2 suppliers third doesn't do it. The ones that quoted said it's a cheaper granite but i dislike the browness of it!
All will supply and fit after templating for price quoted.

Is that 7 square metres?
We paid just shy of 2k for 3.2 sqm
This was for one called "Blues in the night" when we saw it we decided there and then it was the one we wanted, unfortunatley was one of the more expensive ones lol

A good selection and some decent images of stone available0 -
not square metres. Literally 2 runs totalling 7 metres in length with upstand along the same runs.

Ah makes a bit more sense
Heres some numbers from when I was looking, hope they help...
Standard depth seems to be 605mm for handleless units.
So 7000*605 - 4.2sqm
And if you wants upstands 7000*100 - .7sqm
Work with 5sqm
A few of the materials we had quotes for:
Absolute Black £257.39 sq/m
Blues in the night £369 sq/m
Sky Black, black pearl, nero impala, emerald black £228 sq/m
The expensive part seems to be the cuts/polishes/fitting and of course the company doing it will need to be fully insured incase "accidents happen". With ours it did, first fitting the worktop snapped where the sink cutout was, they were back with another less than a week later, a small inconvenice at the time but they sorted it quick enough.
If you can goto their workshop and actually see the slabs, then you know exactly what you're buying. Unfortunatley I had to go off samples as nowhere remotely local had the one in stock we wanted.0 -
I've been in to all their workshops where they have them on display and they've given me samples to take home.

Word of warning - do not use Universal Granite. Seemed good at first, we are now left with a worktop with several chips after less than 2 years and flat refusal from them to do anything - customer service non existent after they've had their £ and to top it all the managing director is the rudest woman I've ever spoken to on the phone!0

Can I ask for any tips on cleaning. What sprays can I use (if any)? I was told Mr Muscle orange by one supplier.

I've always used a simple multi-surface spray. It's all about a decent product to remove any grease, then rinsing any product residue away with water so it doesn't streak, then drying it to a polish with a tea towel. Some people use microfibre but I don't find it works as well for me. The lighter colours are much less likely to streak but it's satisfying when you buff black granite to an absolute shine.
I use https://www.diapol.co.uk for granite and quartz. Have done for 7 years now, initially recommended on here. Their prices are good and their service is excellent. We did have one problem with a small section not fitting correctly once and they retemplated it, took it away and supplied a new perfect piece. I can't really complain about that as we all make mistakes sometimes - it's how you deal with those mistakes that sets you apart. You don't pay a penny until it's fitted either, so no risk.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I just use multi surface cleaner, clean it, douse with water and then use the karcher window vac to suck it all up, Then buff with a Microfibre0
