Hope you get this sorted... I'm afraid there are no simple answers to this, frustrating as it is, as anything that would allow for just 'chucking people out' if something is amiss unfortunately risks being misused by unscrupulous sorts.0

I would use an s8 and as the original tenant wont be there to defend it go straight for eviction, 2 weeks notice gets the ball rolling.0

Does OP have LL insurance?
If he does, I would discuss with them ASAP, as they may have an approved legal dept, who can deal with this.
Does OP have an accurate ID for the original tenant?
Maybe the insurance company can pay to have him traced?
Or maybe the company that appears to have been defrauded can complain to the police and request that they trace him for fraud?0 -
However galling the occupier is not a squatter. They have not committed an offence.
For the offence to be committed the person must know or ought to know that he or she is a trespasser. The offence will not capture someone who enters the property in good faith reasonably believing they had permission to do so. This might arise, for example, where a bogus letting agent encouraged an unsuspecting tenant to occupy somebody else’s property. In such circumstances, however, it might be reasonable to expect the ‘tenant’ to provide evidence of a tenancy agreement or rent payments to show they had a reasonable belief that they were not a trespasser

Action needs to be taken as normal against the original tenant for possession. Use the section 8 route as the quickest way.
It sounds like this person has been conned and stands to loose money just as you do.0
