HI, My son is 16 years old and has started a full time college course. I currently receive child tax credits for him but he wants to work part-time to help him through college. Is he allowed to work if i still receive child tax credits and if so, how many hours?
Thanks, Cat.
Thanks, Cat.

You can continue to get child tax credits for him whilst he is in full time non advanced education.
He can work part time up to 24 hrs a week with no affect on your child tax credits.

Anybody would find it hard to study full time and do a full time job as well as find time to sleep and eat.blondebubbles wrote: »If the child remains in full time non advanced education, there is no restriction to the numbers of hours they can work.
It only applies to children who have left full time non advanced education.

Agreed though there isn't any limit per week as long as they attend full time non advanced education.
Some kids do work full time during the school holidays and that is not a problem at all.:footie:
