Cheap Car Hire through foreign sites

Hi, I have been looking at booking car hire for California through foreign sites eg kayak.fr and as per the MSE advice, it is looking cheaper. However, not speaking French (but still able to find way round .fr site) I wanted to make sure there were no pitfalls I should be aware of, for instance, is it different style insurance for French people as I am not sure what they get with their own French insurance etc etc.

Seriously, forget about it. Look for a discount code and book direct. Better to have a single and accountable point of contact. In addition, it will be much easier for you to read the T&C.
  • Hi, it would still be with Hertz etc, do you think the T&C's would be different or the same, thinking that the hire destination is USA.

The T&Cs are often different when you use a UK Broker. Often the policy changes from Full/Full to Full/Empty etc in Europe.
So you will need to scrutinise the Broker's T&C.

I always book direct with a suitable discount code. You can't have missed the threads here with complaints regarding booking via Brokers.
How do you hope to fare if your contact is via a French broker?
    Do yourself a favour.
