only ebay can make me feel this guilty

I just had a phishing email supposedly from ebay get past my spam filters . It is an obvious phish, 'dear user - then my email address' and basically tells me that due to infringement issues I have been suspended.

My first thought was 'how did that spam get through' but my second thought, almost at the same time was to think 'which of my items has been reported?'

I actually panicked- even though I knew it was spam, thinking i'd broken yet another rule and someone owned a trade mark or something that I had used.

Only ebay can make me feel guilty when I know I am OK

Ridiculous isn't it. My heart sinks when I see I have a new message, the next thought is, do I recognise that user name ?

Ebay used to be fun, but now it is a constant battle to try to keep your account in good health. Just sorting my website, and then will be concentrating on getting it up and running. At least with that I will be in charge of my own sales !

I know how you feel!!!

I get the same with bank phishing emails...I KNOW that it is fake but I always go to check my bank account in a different tab to make sure all is okay.

It is a good job that we subconsciously know that it is fake and don't click the links I can see how easily they catch people out.

I think it is a type of Pavlovian response! I felt the same when I got a phishing letter the other week saying that my Barclays account has been suspended - even though I knew I didn't even have a Barclays account! :rotfl:
