Facebook help

I am trying to set up a business page on Facebook, but want it to be seen by everyone. I have tried setting one up on my user, but it won't let me just make that page public, it wants me to change my settings for my whole account.

Will I need to set up a whole new account, set my privacy settings to public and if so, will my posts be seen by anyone / everyone ?

As far as I am aware you have to set up a new, seperate account from your personal one in order to set up a business/selling 'page'.

I find it all very complicated with Facebook about how to set up a selling site without it then spamming everyone on your friends list.

However, I'm a bit out of love with Facebook at the moment, I haven't managed to get a single person to collect when they say they will for weeks now. I'm also on my final warning for one of the larger local selling sites, even though I haven't broken the rules of the person who runs it. She first got cross that I followed the rules and gave someone 24 hours to contact me about an item they wanted, and when they hadn't contacted me after 36 hours I re listed. Apparently the woman was her friend and she wasn't happy I sold the item to someone else . I told her I'd followed the rule about allowing 24 hours, but she said it doesn't apply if the person has problems and I should be more understanding! Without contact I can't see how that is possible.

I then got a second warning, (I think I may have argued with admin a bit too much) as I offered some very small items and stated they would be posted. There is nothing in the rules about not posting and many others offer it, but apparently she knows them and their circumstances mean they don't want people calling at their house- so I got a warning but they can still continue.

I've just reported, as per the rules , a non collection, but apparently I'm being mean as the woman has young children and can't always collect when she arranges it. Yet again I've got no contact from the collector . As it stands admin is reviewing my membership and may decide to remove me. Shame really as they have over 2000 members.

From your personal account, click on the down arrow on the top right hand side of the toolbar and choose "create page". This gives you a (surprise surprise) business page which is "linked" to your personal page and sets you as the admin of that page. You can then post whatever you like on your business page with privacy set to "public" without it impacting your personal page, which can remain private. You can also then choose to post on FB as
    yourself or as your business.

Don't use a "normal" account for a business or you will find that FB shuts it down without warning as it's against their T&Cs.

Thanks for the info. I managed to set the page up, but just wanted confirmation that my business page would be public, and my personal page private.
