Express Insurance

I had a policy with Express Insurance last year & cancelled it when it was time for renewal as I had found a much cheaper quote. I thought all was fine until I checked my bank statement last month & noticed that Express Insurance had continued to take money out of my account for the increased renewal amount despite them confirming by email that my policy would not be renewed.

I contacted them to inform them of this & even included copies of my statements showing the money had been taken, they even confirmed that I did not have an active policy. I have just received an email from them stating that they can find no trace of the money taken from my account & that I should contact my bank so they can sort it out. Surely it must be Express Insurance's responsibility to reimburse me for the amount taken?
