Need a Will - Help! Seems complicated

Every year my wife and I point out that we don't have a will and must get one sorted, and then promptly forget.


I've just noticed that Amazon Local are offering cheap wills through WSL and, through different Forum Threads, am trying to get some reviews. What I have found is that the Will business is far, more complicated that I originally thought.


Is anyone able to explain, or point me in the right direction, about Will writing, what to look out for/avoid, probates, executors etc please?

Go and see a local solicitor. The next month many are offering free wills with a donation to a deserving local charity. Avoid DIY, will writers and offers like Amazon. Don't go to a bank or appoint them a an executor as they are the most expensive of the lot. Choose the executor(s) carefully.

Go and see a local solicitor (ask friends, family, colleagues for recommendations).

Before you go make sure you have an idea of what assets you have, and take names and addresses of your family/friends who you might like to benefit under your wills.

Your best bet for executors are close and trusted family members. It's by far the cheapest option even if your estate is complex and they need legal advice to administer it.

The person you see can talk you through your options, any issues that arise in your particular situation, any concerns you have.
