PPI handling question

Hi all, just abit of clarification required really.

My other half has put a claim in to Barclays. It was rejected, she found this out by going on the website and putting her claim number in. However it said that the rejection was being looked at again.

She contacted Barclays who said that the information regarding the rejection was sent to her home address. She explained that she had not recieved this information but was wondering why it was being looked at again. The person on the phone said that they would resend the information which 3 weeks later has still not arrived. However, they could not say why the claim was being looked at again as the name on that request not was hers. They confirmed that the claim number was in her name and at her address but the request to review the rejection was not and so they couldn't discuss it with her.

The claim was for a joint Mortgage held with her ex husband. Could her ex have appealed the rejection? If so how would he have known about her claim? Can Barclays share that information with the joint holder and would they use the same claim number? I thought that they would just allocate half of anything owed to each account holder should they claim?

Just concernd that an unidentified person has challenged a rejection of her claim.

Any advice would be gratefully recieved. Thank you.

A complaint about a joint mortgage would require both signatures in order for it to be considered in the first place.
Perhaps this is the reason your complaint has been "rejected"?

Only the Bank and the ex-partner can sort your confusion further.
