ppi refund

hi i have been offered a ppi refund but apparently there is a discrepancy with my husbands signature, apparently it has differed slightly over the last 18 years but this is down to him not being able to grip a pen and write as well as he used to as he has a degenerative bone disease. Can they refuse to pay me what they have offered me now? thanks in advance

If it's a current bank just ask them if you can go into a branch with photo ID to prove who you are - they should be fine with that, they will accept a disease as a legitimate reason for change, just ring up and explain :)

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

No, you should be able to arrange a visit to a branch of the Bank to establish your identity with passport/utility bills etc. You might also need some proof of your husband's infirmity too.
