How to proceed with Parcelforce damaged delivery

Sold item on ebay for £45.00 "Buy It Now" with free postage, sent parcelforce 48 at a cost of £12.98 but when it arrived at buyers address it was damaged.
Buyer contacted me with photos showing damage which I acknowledged.
This is the 1st time this has happened in over 12 years buying & selling on ebay and I am a confused as to how to proceed with a parcelforce claim, do I :-
A: As I have another of the same item, do I send it to the buyer and get him to send the damaged one back and then submit a claim to parcelforce. (I have a feeling that somewhere I will be out of pocket on postage).
B: The buyer makes a claim from parcelforce and sends damaged item back to me, (would I have to refund buyer the postage ?, if yes again I will be out of pocket).
C: Any useful suggestions please

It's up to the buyer. They may want a replacement or they may want a refund.
If you want the original back, you need to pay the return postage.
It's up to you to claim from parcelforce. For damage, it's likely they will want at least photos of the packaging, if not the original packaging. Check the item you have sent is covered in their T&C.0
