Can anyone answer my question please , my son is hopefully moving into a flat soon and according to entitled too would qualify for a bit of housing benefit , what happens if overtime became available at work and put his wages up, does he have to go to the benefits office monthly to show his income , or what happened . If its a lot of hassle for a small amount then he would not bother .But just wondered as his pay is never the same each month . Thanks. Hope this makes sense .

Housing Benefit is an income based benefit and therefore any change in income must be reported.
I believe that councils have their own systems about how to report a change of circumstances. Your son would have to contact his council to find out.
This is one council's answer
