Facebook business page help/advice

Hello all,

I thought I would ask on here as people always seem to get great respones and help.

I am starting a small business on line offering a service. I want a facebook business page and make it look really smart and the information easy to read etc. Fcebook will be great for me to network for my service, but I am unsure of how to creat it and also optimise my potential with a facbook business page.

I am looking to see if anyone has any tips on pushing your business on FB and also any good pages/vids on how to set it up for a dummy and make a nice page.

If you really think a facebook page will help you sell online, then presumably you have seen other successful businesses with facebook pages. Have a look at them and decide what makes them of interest and incorporate that into your own facebook page.

I don't use facebook so I can't really comment. But equally I would not buy from you if you were only advertising on facebook as I wouldn't see you.
Have you considered an ebay and/or an amazon account? (not sure an amazon account would suit you if offering just a service rather than goods)

I've no idea either, but it may be worth looking on the Ebay board. There are often threads from people wanting to sell without paying Ebay/Paypal fees and Facebook has been mentioned there.

I assume it is normally for local sales where people collect in person and pay cash.

a facebook page that people click Like to get updates is always the way to go. You simply need to engage with your audience. FB pages are open to the public so even if they don't have FB they will be able to access your page.

It all depends what service you offer. Create a banner /fb cover that matches your branding Initially ask friends and family to like your page. Not all will but some will and promote your page on other social media like twitter.

Make regular updates does not have to be everyday but show some interaction between you and others. Updates on the business can include announcements offers giveaways etc etc

Forgot to mention - FB has a page promotion and post promotion feature. It costs money but pops up the page on people's timelines as a sponsored newsfeed item there is a cost but this option is not always neccessary

Opinion

When designing a cover photo and profile photo make sure you Google the correct dimensions. Also consider that the bottom left of your cover photo will be covered up by the profile photo.

Photos and videos tend to get a much higher engagement rate for us. A photo with a little text (less than 20% if you want to Boost/Promote it) works well.
