How much would you charge?

I thoroughly enjoy blogging and treat it more as a hobby than a job so actually although I agree a £1 per post is very little I would happily write a post for £5 and do actually write for others, but I guess I'm an exception to the rule.:D

I've been paid £25 in the past, I wasn't looking for it, I was contacted. That was for an article, so a bit larger than a blog post.

If you go cheap, you get cheap. If you pay a fair rate then you'll get somebody who is actually interested in your blog/product/service, somebody who will write intelligently and who will have a vested interest in further promoting those posts on your blog "for free" so to speak.

I can bang out a quick blog post, write and run ... but I wouldn't give a toss if you went under after 6 months as the writing wasn't interesting, relevant, well-written or the 101 other things it'd need to be.

And, to be honest, I'm not sure that's where the market's at these days anyway. Three years ago, that'd have worked, these days you need a wider strategy.
