i pad 2

Hi
My wife has owned an ipad 2 for a couple of years and never a problem until now.
Seems to recognise the Virgin wifi as do 2 laptops (these are not a problem at all), but when you use the ipad to go onto the internet, for instance going to google, it comes up on the screen as

Safari cannot open this page because it could not connect to the server.

Any ideas? (it was fine 3 days ago and is fully charged)

the button that locks/unlocks the ipad - just hold it down until you get a request to swipe and turn it off

turn it back on by holding down the button again

Instead of turning the iPad on and off. A hard reset usually works. Hold down the home button, (circular button at the bottom of the screen) and the lock button (on the top) at the same time the screen will go off, and then an apple symbol will appear. You can release the buttons at this stage, and the device will restart.
This will solve many problems on all iPad, iPod, and iPhone's.

If you have upgraded to ios8 you need to get used to problems until Apple decide to debug it so it works on ipad 2.
