Late night shopping?

Ok do I shop at Tescos now or later?
Started my shopping list hours ago, and have reduced it from £91 to £78. I am still over budget but we are having friends over for "make a course" each so buying some wine etc and works out about £12.00 for the evening compared to about £70 for going out for a meal, babysitter etc :j so I'm trying not to feel too guilty about it. We haven't done anything for weeks as well.........
Anyhoo, I am sure I have read before about it sometimes being cheaper to go shopping late as things are discounted, anyone know if this is true? I am balancing between going now and getting it over with or waiting until 11.30pm (ish) and inadvertently shopping and getting harry potter book ( )and hopefully some bargains.
I am pleased with myself a little though, if I stick to my list I will be £60 over my food budget but last month I was £140 over    so a massive improvement. Hopefully it will be on budget next month
So Tescos now or later.................

I never manage to get the bargains at the right time, so can't give you any advice. Might be worth putting this query on the OS board too - they really are good at this sort of thing!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. About 9pm is supposed to be good but I never find any bargains in Tesco.
I always get my real good coups from Asda. I find Tuesday is their cheap fish night if it's any help for the future.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -

Where do you print your coupons from?Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
No definately not a typo.... the recipt is nealry the size of my 2 year old daughter though...
I know its naughty but I have used the DM book voucher and in my store they take any amount of the same coupons... I had 60 of these with other GMTV coupons ( from the website) and the Felix, Listerine and Tropicana ones that are kicking around.
This was my best yet... normally £90 odd down to £4...
THe till beeps when they start to owe you!
But by doing this it means a big difference to our standard of living.Bit of a Florida Fan :j

blackangel, it really is worth being there in the last 15 minutes before closing time - you will get some real bargains. However they may not be the things you have on your list.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Aaahhh Sea but our Tescos is 24 hrs so I may be knackered
Like the coupons idea, wonder where you get them from?
Determining whether I will stay awake for midnight and is the thought of late night shopping spurred on solely by the thought of getting the Harry Potter book :rolleyes:0 -
Thats what I'm gonna do, and if you spend over £50 you get the book for a £5!!"We are what we eat. Which makes me cheap and fast"

If you want to save some real money, you should go to Netto or Aldi instead. Aldi's is fantastic. tesco are the most expensive supermarket IME, and if its a big shop, they probably won't have much left.
Best time to go is probably about 9pm, the biggest discounts aren't about, but there are more of them.Build a man a fire and he will be warm for a day.

I've just come back from tesco, I didnt want to go but the cupboards were bare...
There weren't many bargains left and shelves were running low. I find the the best time for reduced items is around 7pm and if you go later than now the shelf stackers have trolleys everywhere.
