PILON and starting new job

hi
i got made redundant yesterday and my letter states
"your employment will terminate today 1st October 2014.You will not be required to work a formal notice period and the hotel will make a payment in lieu of notice to you."
Does this mean i'm free to start a new job or claim jobseekers allowance?

yes free to start a new job, not so sure about JSA but probably yes too.
Good luck BTW - it's never nice nor easy when it happens suddenly.The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
