Will new car insurance affect my credit score?

Hi, my husband and I are planning to apply for a buy-to-let mortgage next month. We are both self-employed with fairly modest incomes (only just over £26k between us) so we're having a bit of trouble getting a good deal... but that's a problem for another forum.
My immediate problem is the fact that both my car insurance and van insurance are up for renewal this month. I usually pay by installments but I'm assuming that signing up to two new credit agreements may result in a lot of searches and two new debts on my credit file. The car insurance will be around £400 and the van insurance around £600 - I am wondering if I'd be better off using some of my lump sum for the house deposit to pay for both insurance policies all in one go but I'd rather not touch it unless I have to - does anyone have any ideas?
I appreciate any input.
Cheers,
Kate

It shouldn't be a major deal. But i would be inclined to pay them off in one lump.
Your probably going to save on interest anyway. Installments on car insurance can have quite a high APR.
You will probably save £80 paying in one lump.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Thank you, I'll bear that in mind )0
