Hi All,
Bit of advice, have a default from Vanquis from a few years ago 2011 for around £1500, I had just been made redundant and was informed I could freeze the account between the period of finding new employment. I assumed this had happened and didn't receive a default notice just realized when I check my credit file it had defaulted, basically its stopping me and my wife purchasing a home, we have a deposit and great earnings but this is causing a major headache. Its currently with Restons and I've offered full payment for removal of the default but they don't seem to want to move on it.
Is there anything else I can do?!
Thanks

You can speak to the creditor, try appealing to their better nature and hope they will remove it if you settle in full. but...
It seems it is a genuine default, you stopped paying, and they have a duty to report the truth. It sucks I know. Good luck trying to remove it though.
Lloyds tsb crippled me with one default in similar circumstances. Got 4 years left before that drops off the file...0
