where to get help?

Hi all,
Am new to this forum, so please forgive any ignorance on whether this is the correct place to post.

My wife is in receipt of the Enhanced Rate PIPs and I am her carer and receive all benefits associated with that (for what they are worth!)
I had heard from a friend that they had help with getting a new boiler and was wondering whether if that sort of help is still out there.

Our boiler is an old oil fired combi and it has now given up the ghost.
We have no means of trying to get a replacement, so am asking if there is any charities that could help?
As we are on full benefits, we, like many others only live from week to week, as the little money we do get does not allow for any savings, so have no back up safety net.
Any help and advice would be most appreciated.
Many thanks in anticipation
caver man

Are you connected to mains gas?

if so have a look at this and fill in the check list or if you are still unsure than telephone them.

    Hi pmlindyloo
Unfortunately, we live out in the country and have no mains gas.
We have two 48kg LPG cylinders for cooking only, so thats the only gas we have.
I had looked on some of the Boilers companies who offer grants for replacement etc, but they only deal with gas..which is areal pain for us I think!
  • Thanks for the second link pmlindyloo,
I have just filled out the online form ad submitted it. lets hope they can advise further. I really do appreciate you taking the time to reply.
    Man many thanks
