Help! Change kitchen tap

I am looking to change the kitchen tap ideally from (similar to what we currently have) this to a single lever tap

Is this change difficult to do? What do I need?

I haven't done plubming work before so either I do it myself or find a plumber.

Would appreciate advice and help

As a relatively inexperienced DIY plumber myself, I'd recommend getting someone in to do it. A kitchen tap, and it's pipework is awkward to work on, not an ideal first job, in my opinion. When I had my tap changed the fittings were quite rusted & it took the plumber about half an hour to remove them.

A year later I changed the tap myself though, with no great difficulty. I was also fitting some additional connectors as I wanted to connect a dishwasher.

The only tools I had, as I recall, were a pipe cutter, a wrench, and a spanner for the compression joints.
I also found the phone number of an available local plumber before I started in case I needed to resort to plan B.

I did almost the opposite after finding spares for the tap you want to fit extremely expensive. It helps to invest in some long sockets and a thin jawed adjustable spanner. I probably wouldn't recommend the job to a complete beginner but it is doable for someone that has done the odd bit of plumbing before.
