Withdrawing cash and no money came out

I went to the cash machine to withdraw £150, and the cash machine screen said the transaction was cancelled, and no money debited from my account. Therefore, no money came out. I assume there's not enough money in the cash machine.
When I logged onto online banking, £150 was in the 'Money In' column. Is this right?

You will probably see a corresponding debit in the 'Money Out' column as well.

Yeah a "money out" will appear too. Happened to me before when a machine didn't give any money.0

This has happened to me also, normally within 24 hours it shows up as a debit and then a credit on your account.

If this doesn't happen however, then you will need to go to your bank and they will send off a misdispense form for you.0

This didn't happen last Saturday (27 September) by any chance?
A relative is in a simliar position, but the corresponding credit did not arrive (reported as advised by Everynamestaken). Nationwide card used in a NatWest machine, so not identical to the problems reported in the article below but still a bit fishy.

Why does it always seem to be the RBS group who have these problems? It's a wonder anyone still banks with them.
OP, it's definitely a better idea to contact your bank with things like this than some strangers on the internet. They are likely to automatically correct it but you may need to complete a form. Personally I'd be calling them pretty quickly if anything strange happened to me at an ATM.0 -

I've had this happen several times to me in the UK and abroad. It happened to me here in the Philippines last week. Cashmachine made a noise, spat out my card and said it couldn't process my request. Then shut down. Nothing appeared on my bank statement. I suspect the machine became jammed.
However, I've never had a failed withdrawal like this appear on my bank statement.
The OP appears to be £150 'up' at the moment, so nothing to worry about. :rotfl:0 -
It's one of the reasons I keep more than one bank account (one pays bills & SOs, the other is used for housekeeping & cash). Can't help if the ATM has run out of money, but does on the weekends (and it's often weekends!) if one bank has a wobbly.0
