Hi all
I am a first time buyer and just bought a house in Bristol, but i really need some help from you the forum experts! I spent hours researching deals and price plans but its all soo confusing! So i'm here to ask for some much needed help.

I basically need to find the best deals or packages for the following:

Phone
TV
Internet (8mb if possible)
Electricity

Any help would make my life soooo much easier, and defently less stressful!

For gas and electricity, take meter readings and register with the current supplier when you move in, even if you are planning to switch. Then use a comparison site such as energyhelpline which can estimate your usage and suggest providers for you.

Water, you have to be with your local water board. If there isn't one already, consider switching to a meter, depending on your usage.

For internet, it depends as much on your usage limit than speed these days. There are combined phone and broadband packages available.

    Hi tripled
i notice you recommend connecting then switching.
I am about to move from a 1 bed flat to a 2 bed flat. Do you recommend that I stick with my current supplier and then switch later? If I use a comparison service to pick new suppers for my new flat, do I still get the cashback?

    Thanks for your help. :T

Jo you need to register with the existing provider of your new property when you move in. This may or may not be the same company as you are using now. Once you have registered with them, do a comparison and move to the cheapest supplier/tariff. You should get cashback :)

The easiest way to think of it is you don't actually have a supplier, a property does, and if you live in it you get to choose what supplier that is. So your new property will already have a provider which will be whoever the last people left.
