CP Plus Diversifying due to Hard Times ?

Times must be hard .. all you 'internet gurus' costing these poor PPCs money. CP Plus have had to diversify into issuing Charge Notices for 'conducting commercial activity' at the services on the M5 at Taunton which they "manage". Note the bolted on enhancement to their signs.

I assume they must have installed some of Trev's magnificent detection software to spot 'commercial activity' from their ANPR cameras.
Interestingly you may get a Charge Notice or a Parking Charge Notice... perhaps you can chose. So if I walk onto the site from the service road, with my wares and start selling .. how does that work then ? Just wonder what legislation allows CP Plus to charge people for 'conducting commercial activity'.
Not sure which bit of the BPA CoP covers that or what sort of POPLA appeal you would need .... perhaps one of you 'armchair lawyers' could advise, just in case ...:rotfl:

Just don't break down, the garage will get charges £90.
I wonder if the AA/RAC get charged this, they are always touting at services.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
What if you arrange a meeting (less than 2 hours, clearly) at a service station to sign some deal with a customer. That's commercial activity. How will they know?0

I have been approached in car parks by people selling moody cutlery from the boot of a car. I have also heard of perfumes being sold in the same way.
I do not expect we will receive a lot of complaints from people ticketed for this though. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
I thought I had explained how they "would know" in my post ...."I assume they must have installed some of Trev's magnificent detection software to spot 'commercial activity' from their ANPR cameras."And good point about the AA/RAC and garages ... I assume selling food and petrol, newspapers etc is also 'commercial activity'. worrying times ahead for these people perhaps .... then again ... this is PPC world.
It just amused me as I journeyed down the M5 recently ...

Clearly wouldn't fall within the scope of either PoFA 2012 Schedule 4 or their KADOE contract.Je suis Charlie.0
