Problems scanning and restore dates!!

Hi, I am having trouble with scanning my computer (Norton) it just scans forever more but never completes the process! I also find that when I try to restore to a previous date I get a message saying there are no date's saved although I save restore date on a regular basis (Windows 7) Even when I put a date in it does not save. Any ideas?

    use an online virus checker like trend to double check

    I would suggest you run malwarebytes scan first, you don't say if you are running a Norton quick scan or a full scan? my wifes pc take about 5 minutes to do a Norton scan.
    http://malwarebytes.org/ and don't opt in for the pro trial

    I have run Malware but now I cant get internet connection on my laptop. I get a message saying something like proxy is missing

    If you wish to be annoying then the annoyed will ignore you, the full term is full model number note no bold no underline :cool:

    1. Launch Internet Explorer.
    2. Click Tools and click Internet Options.
    3. Click on Connections Tab and click on LAN Settings.
    4. Make sure that below Proxy Server none of the options are checked. If anything is checked, please clear the box.
