ebay INR case opened Tracking shows delivery attempted

Hi,

I sent a parcel to Germany Royal Mail Tracked & Signed

The buyer has opened an INR case, so I checked the online tracking and it says

'A delivery was attempted for your item with reference RNXXXXXXXGB in GERMANY before 13:53 on 01/10/14.

If the addressee does not collect it or make an arrangement to have it redelivered, it will be returned to the sender in the UK.'

So I have replied to the case and entered the relevant tracking details.

What should I do next, any idea how ebay will decide on cases when it shows attempted delivery?

many thanks

eBay should find for the buyer and insist you refund, but nowadays I say nothing about eBay rules with any degree of certainty,

To avoid an INR claim being found for the buyer eBay require tracking to delivery, not attempted delivery.

You need to contact the buyer so they can contact Deutschepost. Maybe it is like here with cards not being left or possibly the buyer is already making arrangements to collect it. It is less than 24 hours since the attempted delivery!

It is all to easy for a buyer to open a case these days....

Ebay always seem to be on the side of the buyer as well.

I should have explained a little clearer, it was posted about 3 weeks ago and the tracking shows they tried to deliver two times, once a few days after shipping and the most recent being 1st October.

The German buyer has a packstation address and the 'tracked and signed' might be causing the problem as it requires a signature.

The buyur should have been told that a parcel was waiting for him and I have explained that he needs to arrange collection or perhaps re-delivery but now it seems the parcel is being returned

I guess its probably best just to refund rather than wait for ebay to find in his favour?

    More double standards by Ebay.

Buyer can decide not to collect an item. Seller proving delivery attempted and parcel is awaiting collection stands for nothing.

But if buyer returns an item - the buyer only as to prove delivery was attempted.

I think this had to happen when dodgy sellers realised they could avoid any SNAD refunds by refusing parcels.

The difference is that buyers usually want their orders so most will take some trouble to rearrange delivery or pick it up from a sorting office.

Ebay has to give buyers confidence so it is inevitable that buyer and seller rights will be unbalanced.

I'm in a similar situation an item I sold signed for has been waiting at the buyers local sorting office since Tuesday. I have messaged the buyer today just to remind them that its there.
