Issues around residential care

Hi
Just after some advice on behalf of my parents.
My parents are both retired and each receive State and Occupational Pensions. My Dad is disabled and receives DLA. My Mum is the main carer and has an underlying entitlement to Carers Allowance. The also claim Housing Benefit. They don't have any savings or assets.
My Dad's health had deteriorated and it looks like it may get to the stage where my Mum can't provide care at home. My queries are:
1) If my Dad has to go into residential care, will it just be his incomes that get taken up as fees for the care or will my mum have to contribute?
2) If Dad is in care, will mum be able to claim benefits (I'm thinking housing benefits and pension credits) as if she were a single person?
There are probably lots of issues that are going to come up but I'm just looking at a starting point.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you

Yes it should be your dad's income but they often ask for third party to ups, but you don't have to pay. Google and you will get info. Also ensure he gets all that he is entitled to as well
Once your dad is permanent in care your mum gets treated as a single person so can apply as such.0 -
