if I download a file from http://smallpdf.com/split-pdf direct to a memory stick that's plugged in to my pc.
could it infect my pc if there was a virus in the file and before I managed to scan the memory for virus's before opening it.
thanks

Why would a file from the site have a virus on it? I assume you have an antivirus package on your pc? If so, scan the memory stick before opening anything.0

It isn't the presence of a file that infects a PC it's running the executable somehow. Why are you asking specifically about downloading to a memory stick?0

I though downloading it to a stick first and then scanning the stick first would be saferSpending my time reading how to fix PC's,instead of looking at Facebook.0 -
Ah - now I understand. Makes no difference. Download to your pc. Right click and scan for viruses. No memory stick required!0
