Tulip bulbs - 60 for £5 at Tesco

Yes, that is good value. I've no idea what the quality will be like. If you can see through the packaging, check the bulbs are of a decent size, firm, and have no mould on them. Buy them soon, because you don't want them hanging round in a warm Tesco for ages. Tulips are best planted later rather than earlier, so you could leave them for a month somewhere cool, but it might be simplest to just put them in now, rather than risk forgetting them.
I suggest treating them as you would summer bedding, ie, you should get good flowers next spring, but don't expect them to do as well in future years. Depends partly on your soil. Tulips like well-drained soil so that they get a good baking in summer.0
