Mattresses from Oak Furniture Land - any good??

Hi
Having seen (and tried) a mattress in Oak Furniture Land today, we tried to find some reviews online - but there doesn't seem to be any (only reviews about their furniture).
Their main brand is 'Cotswold Beds', which seems to be an in-house brand as it doesn't appear to be sold anywhere else. We were interested in a king size pocket sprung (posture pocket 3000?).
Has anyone had experience of buying a mattress from Oak Furniture Land? They look/feel decent and price is reasonable...just wary of the lack of reviews..
Many thanks

If its anything like their "Oak" furniture it will be cheaply made and imported from China.
Considering we spend around 1/3 rd of our lives in bed it doesn't pay to buy cheap tat..0 -
Look at the ofl complaints on the dedicated Facebook page.
We tried at local store then ordered from Mattressman.0 -
What's your criteria for a mattress? Pocket sprung mattress? memory foam and so on?
Nobody can *really* say whether a mattress is good or not.... as we all like different things.
It may be a good idea to find the style of mattress you like then visit a few bed shops and simply ask their advice, from this you can get an overall view and go from there0 -
I have just started another OFL complaint thread here to clarify a couple of things. Avoid them at all costs mate. Even if you do risk it if there is a problem then you won't get any where with them. I have just created a stink on their facebook page and they got in touch with me within 2 minutes but i am not holding out for any resolve after all of the horror stories i have read0

Did you buy the mattress in the end or find any reviews as we are buying one too.0

We have just bought a mattress from Mattressman too after trying it out in Bensons for Beds. Mattressman were great. Have a look and see if they have something similar to what you're looking for.0

I bought a mattress from oak furniture land - the Cotswold posture pocket plus 3000 …and it is excellent. The same cannot be said about mattressman - they delivered a faulty mattress (the worst mattress I have ever slept on) and I have been having terrible problems with my back since. Their after sales was appalling. The amount of time we spent trying to get anywhere with them was shocking. After several months of emailing, they finally sent an inspector to look at the mattress and it was of course deemed faulty. Then it took them another 2 months before we got our money back. I have spent literally hundreds of pounds on back specialists trying to get back to normal and I have never had any problem with any mattress before.
That company is absolutely terrible!! I wouldn't go near them.0 -
I won't go into detail on recommending how much/what type/supplier/after sales service or slagging off any supplier. It is too easy to read a thread on a forum be it true or fictitious.
Short list a few you like,do your homework and make your choice.
Bricks and mortar suppliers will have larger overheads as will TV advertisers. My criteria was UK produced, decent guarantee, price,no gimmicks.(what is all this farce about trying a mattress and being able to return it if you don't like it?)I looked at the brands supplying the chain hotels(I've stayed at many on business and have my preference's).
I ended up buying online and not from a supplier who paid 000's to appear on top of the google search list.Good luck.Huge savings can be made.0 -
Check out one of the three " oak" outlet stores.
They seem to be well supplied with stock, some really good prices if you are happy with faults.0 -
What a truly despicable company Oak Furniture land are.
Problems placing the order, then they lost the order, broken promises, inept, incompetent, uncaring and unhelpful staff.
A failed delivery leaving us waiting around for 4 hours, eventually when the order was received over half the items were either broken or damaged.
Now we have to ‘return’ the (damaged) free gift as the order is not over £1500.
Avoid this company at all costs.0
