Thank you, molerat - that is a sensible explanation, and the figure did change at the end of the month.

I challenged the store in question when I visited this morning and neither customer services nor the forecourt staff they phoned had any idea as to how it could have happened.

If you are ever in need of a job, molerat, there is employment beckoning in Tesco's Customer Servicing ........

Apologies to Tesco for suggesting that they might ever rip off their customers, but if they made their procedures more simple, then us poor customers and their own staff might understand them.
  • It is designed to get you to buy carp at crapcos. To get 20p you need to give their filthy fingers £500.

My current balance is 146. All earned at a filling station 5p a litre cheaper than theirs. Carpco Avoid.

Why not just call their customer services up and ask them for an explanation?

Ah, that makes sense molerat - ours went down from 9p to 8p also, which OH remarked on.

We had 2p a litre petrol saving on our grocery shop(don't spend much as there are only two of us and there is an Aldi along the same road). When I went to pay for our £50 petrol bill I was told there was no savings on my a/c. Checked my previous bill when I got home and it stated the 2p was allowed until the end of the month. I didn't complain because Tesco are always "right". I am also sick of complaing that several of the prices are not shown on the shelves(for week and weeks - I always get a price check now before I let the unpriced items go through on my bill) Nothing is ever done about it.
I find it strange that all the items in question are Value ones. A trick to make me choose the priced, more expensive brands? I wonder ?

Sounds like the same thing that happened to us re the petrol savings, jackel. I can't call them to ask as I'm telephone phobic; and I don't think I have the mental energy to put together an email. I don't often shop there in any case, just when I need something I can't getin @ldi and it's either frozens or can't wait til Mr LW can go to Morries in his lunch break. It makes me cross though, just on principle, as I'd carefully told Mr LW to fill up there before the 4p expired, instead of going to his preferred filling station.

No, I used all my allowance by the end of last month and started afresh this month at zero as I always do.

I still have Monday's receipt and it says 9 pence to be used by 31 October whereas today's says 8 pence, also to be used by 31 October.

Tesco have definitely docked me one pence and it surely is not a coincidence that it happened on the day they reduced the pump price by the same amount.

Can anyone confirm a similar experience?

I phoned up Tesco credit card about this yesterday as it has happened to me at least twice.
The reply was that the "odd" penny was not redeemable on fuel as the savings are only redeemable in values of 2p and multiples. Why they cannot add a penny instead of robbing me I don't know.
Maybe they shouldn't show the "odd" pennies on your receipt in the first place.
