Hi Suzie, have a look on pinterest too for ideas. Also some of the cheaper pound shop type places will have some shabby chic styles in soon, you just have to imagine them in your house away from all the bling. What I have done in the past is plant bulbs (now) in old cans or china and they will be ready for Christmas.I have also sliced oranges and lemons and dried them slowly on the lowest heat in the oven.Thread onto twine or ribbon and hang in your windows or on the tree. Last but not least anything made of wood painted with emulsion, including cut branches from a tree. I would say less is more if you are looking for the shabby Nordic look. Vx

More shabby than chic, this is the only contribution I'd be able to make to your theme...

Wow there are some fantastic ideas here. I really appreciate all the suggestions. I read somewhere that getting old china cups and filling them with wax and making your own candles is a really good idea so I defo want to try that. I also want to buy some bits for around the house as well but I went to the usual places like B and Q and there wasn't anything in the style I want. Does anyone have any idea of what sites do the sort of thing I am after? White Satin do you mean create your own xmas hamper, I love the idea of that! That would be a brilliant tradition to start, thanks!

Yes, that is what I mean. If you search on here, you will find lots of ideas from previous years. I have made them for a few people and obviously you would gear it towards yourselves in this case.
