Letter from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd

I'm hoping you can help. More than a year ago I overstayed in a Parking Eye car park by around 10 mins. It is a supermarket car park, free for 3 hours. I subsequently got a letter with a parking charge, which, having followed some online advice, I ignored. Over the last year I have had around 4 or 5 letters asking for payment but have continued to ignore. The second to last letter was about bailiffs coming round (they have not turned up) and the one this week was from Debt Recovery Plus to say court action is coming up. They say "should" I be charged it "may" affect my credit rating. I'm not sure how to proceed. One key thing is that all the correspondence is address to my partner, to whom the car is registered, while I am the offending driver. What are my options? Thanks!

You obviously have not seen the Newby thread about Debt Recovery liars then?
Debt Recovery Plus are just threatening you, they are bullies and scammers, they will not be sending anyone round as you would have found out had you researched a little on here!;)0 -
Copied from the newbie thread just for you...

You can write to the PPC at any stage before (very rare except with ParkingEye!) court action, to give the name and address of the driver and under POFA 2012 that then discharges any possible liability against you as keeper.
This is especially recommended where it was a postal PCN (not re docks/Port/Airport because the keeper has no liability there anyway!). If the keeper has ignored it and missed the appeal window, the driver still has that option open to THEM to appeal due to the lack of a windscreen ticket. A good plan is to give a different postal address for the driver, and state that you have NOT passed the paperwork to them so, if the PPC are to have a chance of pursuing it, they will have to write to the driver with a 'Notice to Driver' from scratch.
Discussed here, and it has been tried and tested:

You can then reset the clock as driver and make your appeal - but do use the up to date templates on the forum. PE do court - a lot, so it's best to get this diverted to the driver. Ignoring is not a good option with this lot.0 -

Who cares about debt collector letters?!

Your options re DRP, are to read the sticky threads and search for the keyword 'Recovery' to bore yourself silly with the thousands of other threads already here.
More important would be to ignore DRP and instead read about ParkingEye and the fact they sue people who ignore them - so get a late appeal in to ParkingEye online (NOT to the debt collector middle-man!).
If the keeper can name the driver (another person) then the case goes back to appeal stage with a PCN being sent to the driver, so do that NOW, URGENTLY. To be fair, all this is already covered in the FAQs thread 'NEWBIES please read these FAQs first' near the top, in the section about 'too late to appeal?...rewind the clock'.
Do not reply here saying the keeper cannot name the driver. Yes they can (listen...think...please do not reply saying ''can't do that because...'' NONONO!). Have a good long think about who was driving the car maybe, that day. Name them & their address, so they get the PCN to appeal from scratch which IS a winnable scenario 100% of the time here. The driver WILL win on appeal - much better than PE suing the keeper who actually ignored the PCN when the forum advice did not say that in 2013!!
Don't write to DRP!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
