https://www.tfl.gov.uk will give her all routes bus and tube on their travel planner although she could also ask at the hotel's reception.
Personally as Old Street is quite deserted after business hours if I was having a night out and returning solo I'd probably grab a black cab (I'm a Londoner by birth and am not "timid" about running around London and other big cities solo at night so I don't think it is over cautious advice)I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Remind her that cash fares are no longer accepted on London buses-she'll need a Travelcard, Oystercard or contactless bank card.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

There is no daily bus pass any more - only the Daily Fare Cap on Oyster. (Paying by contactless bank card does not have the Fare Cap, yet).
The 55 bus along Clerkenwell Road goes to the West End (Tottenham Ct Road Stn, IIRC).
Alternatively, walk through to Rosebery Avenue, and catch a 19 or 38 to Piccadilly Circus.0 -

Yes it does - daily fare capping for contactless was introduced on buses at the beginning of August, and since contactless was introduced on 16 September for Tubes and trains in London there is now daily and weekly fare capping for contactless on all travel modes (buses, Tubes, trains, DLR etc). The weekly capping system runs from Monday to Sunday.

That's really handy. I don't live in London any more, and I'd been hanging on to my Oyster card for the occasional trip. Now I can get the deposit back.
Your link garbled, BTW.

She will need an off peak day travelcard covering all the zones she will be travelling through for each day.
Surely you (or her) can look it up on a TfL map which zones are needed?
And before you ask, the fares are all on the TfL website too.0
