I remember reading that there was a grace period until march/april 2015 for sellers that fall below standard due to the new defect system...
I can't seem to find any information on this now. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I don't think it was ever completely confirmed what would happen, even eBay staff on the community boards didn't understand. However, it was generally believed, but not confirmed, that old defects , ie those predating the March2014 announcement, would be treated in a lighter manner than those received afterwards.
