A friend of mine has just sold 2 houses (currently renting) and is looking for the best option to get the highest interest on the £285k while he looks for his next house purchase. The account must be instant access.

in anything 'other' than the NS&I you are going to have to spit it into £85k chunks to be protected.
don't expect to 'earn' anything on the amount.0
