more often than not when i do a google search, the resultant page comes up, but then avast free antivirus flags up a virus warning such as:
hxxp://jaoohqvqda.ru/slog/index2.php?v3&sys=google&key=app on ios to monitor 3g usage&restype=0&resitems=0
the beginning part of the warning stays the same, other search results change the endings.
i have run a malwarebytes scan which detected some PUP? threats and quarantined them.
any other reasons why this may be happening, and how to cure it please?
many thanks.

Do you have Acestream Player installed? Did you install the AS Magic Player browser extension as part of the install (or separately)?
I have been getting similar issues lately and they have been due to the AS Magic Player browser extension - disabling (or better still, removing) the extension stopped the issue.
Note - if you installed it via the Acestream installation then the extension may keep re-adding itself when you start up Acestream Player. Uninstall Acestream, reinstall and take a careful look at the install features; remove anything you don't want (e.g. videos playing when streams are paused, etc.)0 -
hi
yes i have got ace stream installed. unfortunately my stepson installed it as an updated version recently so he may well have installed it alongside some other 'add on' bits of software.
i have reset my chrome browser (thanks GunJack), and all seems ok at the moment, but i havn't used ace stream yet so if the issue does reoccur i will then take your advice and uninstall ace stream.
many thanks for your help.0
