Two years of Maxim for £9.99

Maxim occasionally does limited promotional offers to bring in new subscribers. This one is particularly good as it’s just 40p a mag. If you go direct to the Maxim website you'll pay £24 a year.
This special promotion is via internet cashback site Rpoints. The following link takes you directly there.
Maxim Subscription*
If you're an Rpoints member you'll also get 200 Rpoints worth £2 by using the link. If you're not an Rpoints member, you can read 'cutting edge internet shopping' which explains how it works and sign up there.
The link will still work if you're not an Rpoints member, just the 200 points will then go to MoneySavingExpert.com not you!

Tis a very poor magazine even for the type.
I don't think it is worth 40p a copy, just my 1p's worth.0 -
Having given me Credit Card details I just hope's it's not a spoof !!!
Please Expert let us know it's 4 real !!!0 -
totally agree with nesima, its extremely poor,
in fact, its so poor, i put my subscription on ebay in case anybody wanted it but got no bids. Hence, if anyone wants the remaining subscription to my maxim magazine, PM me and ill set it up (i'll have to "gift" it to your name/address)
but i warn you again.. its a v v poor magazine0 -
Hiya. If you look this post is from me. I would never do it if i new it was a spoof.
Not commenting on the mag though - not my cup of tea - but many enjoy it.
I was thinking through "why do maxim do this" and here's my mullings
Magazines make money two ways - sales and ad revenue. Advertising revenue depends on circulation. Therefore at certain times of the year building circulation is crucial. Now if it just reduced its price on its website or magazine, it'd just be reducing its revenue from people likely to subscribe anyway. It's aim is to bring in new subscribers at speed without cannibalising its existing custom.
So what does it do? It goes to a cashback website, where people are very price responsive to top deals, and very cheaply flogs subsciptions. Thus building its circulation to help advertising revenue without cutting the price for the people who'd buy it anyway.
I have no idea if this is right (and as its a good deal, i can't be bothered to find out) but its probably part of the explanationMartin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

btw, when i meant i'll 'gift' the subscription to whoever wants it I mean I wont charge you anything as the magazines go in the bin now anyway
I signed up to this last year so I've probably used up about a 12 issues left and approx 10-12 left0 -
it looks a good deal pity the mag is so poor,i looked at the first couple but havnt bothered since.

WORD OF WARNING
I took this offer up previously and found that the delivery was sporadic, I would get it some months and not others. You insentive to chase in not huge when its only costing 40p per month. Also I never saw hide nor hear of the cover freebies!
In the end I cancelled the deal about 8 months in and they gave me a full refund, although I was only expecting pro rata (i.e. 8/24 of £9.99, taken off).
Buyer beware, and hope you have better luck - if not they seem good on refunds.

sorry steige, someone got there before you. i've gifted the subscription to someone now people, thanks0

This is truly the most appalling magazine. Perhaps it is due to it being intended for an age rannge c15-18 and not much older.
It isn't even any use for lighting the fire due to the shiny paper
I'll try the refund tactic and have the last laugh.0
