  • One for Doozergirl probably - don't building regs demand two doors between kitchen and toilet?

I'd make it a kitchen/lounge/diner affair to the top of the layout with access to the outside, reclaiming the top of the hallway as usable space and popping a door across next to the structural wall.
Then steal a bit of room for the BATHroom from the bedroom to the left, and possibly shift the partition wall downwards between the two bedrooms to balance them.
    3.9kWp solar PV installed 21 Sept 2011, due S and 42° roof.
17,011kWh generated as at 30 September 2016 - system has now paid for itself.

Nope building regs don't require that anymore. I think the only requirement, if there is only one door between the two, is that the wc has a basin

The requirement is always that there is a sink in with a toilet. The two door thing doesn't exist anywhere anymore.

In case anyone's interested, this is the final floor plan. Unfortunately with option 1, there just wasn't enough space for the kitchen plus a decent seating area, (which i feel it needs, being so far away from the living room. Moving the living room was never a consideration for me!).

    Thanks for your opinions :)

Glad you lost that sliding door to the bedroom. That would totally have put me off!
