Scrapping a motorcycle.
My grandson has a motor bike and left it in a garage after a crash in which is was written off.
He has since moved away and left all his documents with me and has asked me to send some document or other to the DVLC.
to let them know it is going to be scrapped.
I can find 2.
One is Registration certificate and says V5C
The other is Notification of sale /transfer.
]
I am lost as to what to fill in and where and do I send both documents in
Help would be appreciated thanks

No idea Buellguy,
I think he will probably leave it till he can get back up here to sort it out.
In the meantime we need to let the DVLC it is off the road.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Put the registration into http://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk - if it's SORNed, all good. If not, SORN it using the doc ref from the V5C at http://taxdisc.direct.gov.uk - that's all you need to do to tell them it's off the road, and it's a one-off until the bike's sold or scrapped.
As far as scrapping it goes, what are you actually going to do with the bike? If you're going to ring a scrappy, they'll want the V5C so they know it's not nicked, and will issue a "certificate of destruction" and do the necessary with Swansea.
If you're going to break it and sell the bits, then treat whoever buys the frame as the new keeper, and do the usual to "sell" it to them.
If you're going to physically destroy the frame and recycle it yourself, then you'll need to write a letter to Swansea telling them.0
