Huge congratulations! I'm about halfway through paying my debts off, cleared 3 out of 7 accounts so far with the 4th being cleared in 3 weeks time and your post has inspired me to keep going as I'm at the stage where I feel like all I do is pay debts....I have no idea how long it will be until they're all paid but I hope to be where you are sooner rather than later. Enjoy your new debt free life

Thanks for sharing your experiences....such a great post!
We've got a similar sized chunk to pay back, its hugely daunting.
After years of being really good with money, we did a property investment that crashed unbelievably.
At the age I am, I'm quite depressed to be in this situation, but having read your posts have just realised that I am the age now that you were when you started your debt busting, so you've helped me realise that all is not lost, and we can recover from this.
Thank you, and all the best :beer:A Payment A Day keeps the debts at bay

Well done :T It really is inspirational to read posts such as yours. In just under a year, I should be in the same situation. It's a long hard slog, but I cannot wait to get there:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0

Really so pleased for all of you and glad my post has been useful.
I used to read posts like mine today and used to feel a mixture of hope and envy. I visualised the day we would become debt free, and when that day came I thought we'd be punching the air and getting drunk. But in the end we went for a long walk on the beach and I cried with relief.
In paying off your debts you'll discover strengths you have and joys you didn't even know life could offer. Simple, free joys. And I promise you this; when you work so very hard for so many years to be debt free you will NEVER get yourself into the same mess again.0 -

It's really great to hear you found us useful throughout your journey and congratulations to you for reaching your goal.
Have a good evening.
