I just had a call about how I can save 70% off my heating bills if I fitted infrared heating panels by Erad. systems.

And that they use low voltage electricity. And use 2.7kWh per week costing less than 9p.

So how does that work?
over 73 but not over the hill.

  • IR heating has its place but probably not in your home. And sales pitches such as "And that they use low voltage electricity. And use 2.7kWh per week costing less than 9p" are either not pertinent or nonsensical.

    Hi All

I have had personal experience of erad and my advice would be do not buy the hype.

The system is sold via resellers who put a 120% markup on the price (at least).

The estimated savings are often based on the most expensive electric heating systems on the planet and not gas central heating.

In my view it is misleading

Thanks for your input BethanyD, it helps others see through the hype and make better judged decisions.

I've just minutes ago had an flyer-approach from Churchill [the daft dog] vehicle insurance .. .. 80% discount for safe drivers .. .. I'll have some of that I thought .. .. so I rang them. Money supermaerket & two other comparison sites all gave me a selection of 10 each comparable offers at £300-£330.

So with 30 offers at a £315 average, Churchill offered £418, a generous increase of (plus) +£103 after the 80% discount was applied - its just snake oil - smoke & mirrors - or as you correctly say BethanyD """do not buy the hype"""

    Hello
I just wanted to respond back to your comments. I work for the company in customer services. Although you think it is suspicious for us to receive lots of positive feedback, I can assure you that the feedback that we get is done through a third party review system called reputation.com, so the 5/5 responses that we get are totally genuine, can be validated and proven back to their source (the customer).
I appreciate that we don't always get it right all of the time (as with many companies)- but are working hard to improve all of the time).
The vast majority of our customers are delighted.

    - spam using falsified information from a first time poster who would have thought it ? the reputation [one of many] of .. .. reputation dot com is here for all to see

  • My experiences: I bought a FAR infrared heating panel. It is no good. Do not buy one!

It is not less money to heat and it does not heat enough. Standing 1-2 meters for heat is ok. More distance away from the panel is cold. The room is still cold.

I tested it now with a power monitor. It is taking 850 or 900 watts all of the time all day.

I am 100% dissatisfied with the infrared heating panel and the company do not refund. Does some one else have this problem?:(
