Leaseholder not sending me sellers pack

I've been trying for over 2 weeks to get a sellers pack from my leasehold company to sell my flat, and have already been met with the cheque didn't arrive, then its in the building but not got to the right desk yet which could take 7 days, and also the lady dealing with it is off for 2 weeks. I've heard several stories about people struggling with them, and it taking months to get a pack from them! Is there any way I can hurry them up? Surely they cant drag these things out that long?

Frustrated!

  • If I believe my vendor then they have also had a massive issue getting hold of the management pack. However, it has finally arrived and is with my solicitor. I think they just kept chasing and chasing, and eventually it arrived 10 days after they'd been told it would be 5 days.

It got there in the end.
  • Thanks Jitterbug, how did you chase them? By phone, email or letter? I've only ever heard bad things about my leaseholder and am not going to miss out on a sale because of them, no way!!

Glad you got your pack through :)
  • Get your solicitor to contact them and read the riot act.

This is not a substitute for chasing yourself, but when I had similar problems when selling my flat, the solicitor was able to break the log jam and get the papers, where I had failed. So worth a try.

I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.
  • Thanks Daisy, have emailed solicitors this morning and advised them of the previous issues others have had, and asked them to flex a bit of muscle. fingers crossed it goes through...

Glad you got there in the end too
  • Yeah it was definitely a joint effort of the vendor and solicitors for the place I'm trying to get.
