My IE 11 will not let me select and copy an address from the address bar - I cannot cut and paste either - when I try, it deselects the text !!
I am unable to use Ctr + C - it deselects the highlighted text...

It is infuriating - any suggestions/fixes ?

I just hover the pointer over it and right click, it highlight the address and brings up the box to allow me to select copy.

I never try to highlight it first.

I just don't get how you're not getting it..... left-click over the address, copy, job done... just be careful where you hold the mouse pointer ;)

  • Well I just tried with IE 11 and I can put the mouse anywhere in the address box not just over the url, right click and select copy. CTRL-C works for me too. So does highlighting all or part with click and drag.
I've not found anything that doesn't yet...

I doubt it matters but this machine runs Win 8
  • Kwikbreaks, my work laptop is on Win7 and works fine as you describe. Operator error, they should try rebooting.

Reboot both or even better factory reset both to an out of the box state .
